Project Background
The UAE enjoys a tropical desert climate, with summer temperatures reaching over 45°C, dry air, and intense sunlight. The local horse industry is well-developed, primarily focusing on Arabian Thoroughbreds, racehorses, and leisure riding horses.
This solution is designed for small stud farms in the UAE with 20-30 horses. The goal is to provide safe, comfortable, and easy-to-maintain living and training spaces for the horses, while also balancing aesthetics and site efficiency.
Design Objectives
High-Temperature Insulation: Reduces direct sunlight exposure and maintains a stable temperature inside the stable.
Ventilation and Cooling: Enhances air circulation to prevent heat, humidity, and ammonia accumulation.
Corrosion-Resistant and Durable: Adapts to dust, sea breezes, and high temperatures.
Easy to Clean and Maintain: Reduces daily maintenance time and water consumption.
Aesthetically Harmonious: The exterior design aligns with Arabian architectural styles, enhancing the stable's image.
Stable Layout Recommendations
● Building Orientation
The front of the stable should be oriented away from western sunlight (east or southeast is recommended) to reduce the intensity of the afternoon sun.
Preserve natural wind paths to facilitate air circulation.
● Structural Layout
Single-row open stables (15-20 stalls) for easy ventilation and inspection.
A 3.5-4 meter wide aisle is reserved in the middle for easy cleaning and vehicle access.
A shaded corridor is added to the exterior of the stable to provide sun protection and allow for easy movement of the horses.
Stable Structure and Materials
● Walls and Roof
Lower wall: Concrete or brick structure (1.2-1.5 meter high), upper metal railings for safety and ventilation.
Roof: Insulated color-coated steel or aluminum sheeting with insulation, with a skylight for ventilation at the top.
Eaves should extend ≥ 1 meter to prevent direct rainwater intrusion and create shade.
● Doors and Partitions
Doors: Sliding or bifold doors (1.2-1.4 meter wide) with anti-trap design.
Partitions: Hot-dip galvanized steel structure with high-density hardwood or bamboo panels (moisture-resistant and crack-resistant).
● Flooring
Concrete flooring + Anti-slip treatment and a slight 2-3° slope for drainage.
Rubber matting inside the stable reduces impact and facilitates cleaning.
Climate-Resilience Design
Natural Ventilation: Side wall louvers + ceiling exhaust louvers
Mechanical Cooling (Optional): Industrial ceiling fans or misting cooling system
Sand Control: Adjustable sand screens installed on doors and windows
Drinking System: Automatic drinking fountains (with sun-protected hoses) to prevent evaporation from high temperatures.
Supporting Areas
Feed Storage Area (Drying, Ventilated, and Rodent-Proof)
Horse Washing Area (with drainage ditch and pergola)
Medical Care Area (for veterinary examinations and isolation of sick horses)
Equipment Storage Room (for saddlery, feed buckets, cleaning tools, etc.)
Construction and Delivery
Construction Time: Standardized modular stables can be completed in 30-40 days.
Installation Method: Complete installation or construction by a local construction team can be provided.
Transportation: The stable structure can be disassembled and packaged, suitable for shipping to UAE ports.
After-Sales and Maintenance
Parts replacement and structural repairs are available during the warranty period.
Maintenance recommendations are provided for corrosion, sand, and heat protection.
Supplementary stable modules are available on a long-term basis to facilitate future expansion.
Solution Advantages
Designed for the UAE climate, with both insulation and ventilation.
Corrosion-resistant materials withstand dust and high temperatures.
Expandable modular structure facilitates the subsequent addition of stalls.
Localized, aesthetically pleasing design incorporates Arabic architectural elements.
